Max plays a key role in developing and maintaining Xelect’s in-house genetics software and customer database systems, ensuring our clients have access to powerful, reliable tools for managing breeding programs. He also oversees analytical workflows and creates applications for data visualization and analysis, supporting informed decision-making across projects. His work underpins the efficiency and accuracy of our genetic improvement programs.
With a BSc in Molecular Biology from the University of Exeter and a PhD in quantitative and molecular genetics from the James Hutton Institute and University of Dundee, Max brings deep scientific expertise to his role. He also spent three years in postdoctoral research developing software pipelines for transcriptomics and pan-genomics, experience that now drives innovation in Xelect’s bioinformatics processes and R&D initiatives.
